Description

The MIRA Safety Custom MOLLE PAPR Pouch is designed to mount your MB-90 PAPR on your existing MOLLE-compatible plate carriers, backpacks, and other gear. That means you can integrate powered CBRN protection into your kit while optimizing weight distribution and streamlining overall fit.

Rugged CBRN Integration for Your Kit

Our MB-90 PAPR is based on the elite design used by Israeli special forces, and it ships with their customized belt and mounting gear.

MIRA Safety has made a number of improvements to the MB-90 itself, from a more rugged housing to an improved battery system. Now, with the MOLLE PAPR Pouch, we’ve improved your PAPR’s logistics and deployment.

MOLLE webbing allows for maximum flexibility, rock-solid mounting, and it can make the 28-ounce PAPR feel practically weightless when correctly mounted.

The custom-fit pouch features four rear-mounted straps that weave into your plate carrier, backpack, or other gear with heavy-duty snaps and rip-stop nylon to snugly hold your PAPR in place.

Disappointed and overpriced for what it is.

1. The "attaching strips" standing in for Molle attaching strips are weak and light weight. I cut them off and use Tactical Tailor Malice Clips. Obtained and provide TT Malice Clips. I've used them for years in a special operations environment, they are tough and NEVER release until you want them to. 2. Placement of the unit is tough to do. Over body armor, on the rear, you can't reach the switch on/off switch. On the front, which enables access to the switch and filter replacement, it is a no go. Clearly you can't lay down on the ground and if you did, it would raise your profile too much. Final note on placement, if on the back, YOU CANNOT put on a rucksack of any type over that unit. It blocks the ports of the filters. Again, front or back, is a no go. 3. Placement on a battle belt on the right side at waist level is where i put mine. Hose on the left, over the left shoulder. That works. However, due to the construction of the unit, it puts the mass of the weight ABOVE the center of "rotation" on the belt, so it tends to lean away from you. However, on the side, you can reach the switch, access the filters, any anything else you need to do. 4. Make an option for CR123 lithium batteries, AAs are okay, but don't last long. And frankly these days in this cheap economy, batteries are having a shorter shelf life (note the cost of what you buy, if AAs are cheap, they are probably old and near the end of their shelf cycle. Also, however, you can breath through the filters with the power off. I didn't see that mentioned in the information, it may be there, but that is a huge PLUS for the unit. Sometimes you don't want the noise of that air system. 5. This unit is NOT padded. It should be at least 3-4 layers of cordura nylon. There is only one snap shut and some velcro on each side of the unit to hold the PAPR in place. There are 4 loops molded into the case. USE THEM AND TIE IT IN WITH 550 CHORD. Back up those snaps and velcro. That is not enough. 6. The unit is best mounted horizontally, not vertically or upside down, with the hose coming forward or backward. That best defends the hose "super critical part because the filters are on the opposite end of the mask, HUGE VULNERABILITY. Lastly, and huge important. I've designed combat gear and tested it operationally. This piece is 19.95 at best. The manufacturer probably makes it for 5.00 max. Not a good deal. I'll be making my own carrier and will use it. This will go away. Respectfully, Dean

This fits the unit it is designed for. I would add that the unit I bought that fits this pack works well till the soldering job fails in the top of the battery pack that comes with the unit. I had issues with the first one that came with the unit and customer service was awesome. The replacement I received worked for a time. The third check I performed on the unit after buying the molle pouch, I found the unit did not function. I emailed customer support, and as my unit was a couple weeks after the warranty expired, I cannot say the support was good. I was left on my own to fix what I considered to be a defective product. I made the mistake of putting of a gear check for 3 weeks after the warranty expired, if you have one of the units and find it does not function due to lack of power to the motor, take the top off the battery pack and check the red wire to see if the solder failed. If it is not connected, get a soldering iron and resin solder. Solder it to the top of the diodes.

Good quality pouch for carrying the PAPR. Haven't pulled either out of the packages yet, but everything is in the Jeep just in case.
